How TruePane Windows & Doors Was Born in Fort Lauderdale

TruePane Windows & Doors had already been doing things the right way for years before we opened our doors here in Fort Lauderdale. The brand was built by Dale Kessler, a second-generation glazier who spent his early career watching what happened when windows were treated like an afterthought. He saw out-of-true installs that bound up in the July heat, seals that fogged over by year three, and warranty paperwork that somehow covered neither the glass nor the labor. So when the chance came to bring TruePane to South Florida, it wasn’t a question of whether. It was a question of how fast.

Fort Lauderdale needed this. We knew it before we ever put the first truck on the road here. Coastal humidity punishes cheap seals within a couple of seasons. Hurricane codes demand impact ratings that a lot of installers still don’t explain clearly. Homeowners in neighborhoods like Victoria Park, Rio Vista, and Coral Ridge had been burned enough times to be skeptical of anyone with a ladder and a brochure. So when we opened this branch, we made one commitment: every job gets measured twice, quoted line by line, and registered for both warranty layers before the crew heads back to the shop. No shorthand. No vague numbers. No surprises.

That’s the standard Dale built the company on, and it’s the standard we hold every single installation to here in Fort Lauderdale.

Dale Kessler’s Personal Connection to the Windows & Doors Trade

Dale Kessler grew up around glass. His father was a glazier, and some of Dale’s earliest memories are of riding along to job sites, sitting on an overturned bucket in a corner while his father ran a level across a sill for the third time, checking, rechecking, then checking once more. The shop smell stayed with him: the faint mineral scent of fresh-cut aluminum, the dust from scoring glass, the way a properly seated pane settles into its frame with a sound you can feel through your fingertips. He didn’t know at the time that he’d spend his life in this trade. But the trade had already claimed him.

What kept him in it wasn’t the glass itself. It was the moment after the install, when a homeowner stands in front of a window that finally opens without a fight, or a sliding door that glides the way it was supposed to from day one. There’s a particular quiet in that moment. A relief. And then usually a story about the old window: how it whistled in storms, how the frame had rotted, how a previous contractor had promised to fix it and never came back. Those stories stayed with Dale. They still do. He’s been doing this work for more than ten years now, and the reason hasn’t changed: a window that works is a thing most people never get to stop worrying about. We get to give them that.

If Dale weren’t in windows, he’d probably still be around them somehow, maybe restoring old steel casements or teaching apprentices how to bed a pane properly. But he wouldn’t be doing anything else. The work gets in your hands. It’s precise, patient, and unforgiving when you rush it. That suits him.

Meet Dale Kessler - The Person Behind Every Job

Dale Kessler is the Owner & Founder of TruePane Windows & Doors, and the man whose standards set the bar for everything we install in Fort Lauderdale. He came up through the trade the old way: as an apprentice glazier, then a journeyman, then a crew lead who wouldn’t sign off on a job until the level said what it was supposed to say. He’s built his reputation on the simple belief that if the pane isn’t true, the job isn’t done.

What sets Dale apart from a franchise technician isn’t just the years or the training. It’s personal. He keeps a level in the truck door, always has. He still reads manufacturer spec sheets line by line. And he treats every home like it belongs to someone he’ll run into at the grocery store a decade from now. Because in Fort Lauderdale, he probably will. His commitment to every customer is direct: if it isn’t right, he’ll know. And it won’t leave the job site until it is.

Our Promise to Fort Lauderdale Homeowners

We work by a code around here, and it’s simple enough to fit on a whiteboard: K.E.Y.S.

  • Krafted right: trained journeymen, proper materials, no shortcuts.
  • Every time: the 400th job gets the same care as the first one.
  • Your home first: we work in your house the way we’d work in our mother’s.
  • Standing behind it: if it’s not right, we come back. No paperwork, no arguing.

That last one isn’t a slogan. It’s the Keystone Standard, applied to every window and door we install: both warranty layers in writing, durations stated clearly, 90 days on our workmanship, no arguing. We quote manufacturer lines side by side on paper so you can see exactly what you’re paying for and why. You’ll get a square deal, and you’ll get it in writing.

Our Credentials

Every pro working under our name is required to hold the license and insurance their state requires. That’s not a perk. It’s the floor. We don’t send anyone to your home who hasn’t met that bar, period.

  • State-licensed: the licensing authority is the state’s own requirement, and we make sure every crew member meets it.
  • Insured & bonded: required of everyone who works under the TruePane name. Your home is protected while we’re in it.
  • Established local track record: this Fort Lauderdale branch has been serving homeowners across Broward County long enough that our work speaks for itself: Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Miramar, Coral Springs, Pompano Beach, Davie, Plantation, Sunrise, Deerfield Beach, Lauderhill, Weston.
  • Strong local reputation: the best proof of our work is the neighbors who’ll tell you about it. Ask around. We’ve earned the trust, one window at a time.

Here’s why any of that matters to a homeowner: when someone works inside your walls, on your openings, against your weather, you need to know they’re accountable. Licenses mean training and oversight. Insurance and bonding mean if something goes sideways, you’re not left holding it. No credential on a wall replaces the moment the work is done right, but they’re the first honest signal you can trust.

Rooted in Fort Lauderdale

We’re not renting a mailbox and a logo here. We’re part of the community. You’ll see our trucks in Coral Ridge and Victoria Park, in Hollywood and Plantation, at the county fair, at the local supply yard, at the place on Federal Highway where the good coffee is. We hire local, we train apprentices into journeymen right here, and we answer the phone with a person. A company that plans to be in Fort Lauderdale in thirty years acts like it today.
